Erich M. Shultz is the creator of the LAWYER1 Plan.
 He was born July 30, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas, and raised in Dodge City, Kansas, where he received his elementary and secondary education. He attained his B.A. degree in Economics from Memphis State University (now University of Memphis) in 1976 and was awarded a Juris Doctor from the School of Law at Washburn University of Topeka in 1980.
He has practiced law since then, handling a variety of matters in civil and criminal litigation, appellate practice, probate, real estate, partnership and small business organizations, and general legal advice and counsel. Mr. Shultz is currently licensed as an attorney in all courts of Tennessee and is admitted to practice before the U. S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and the Sixth U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
He has served frequently as a special judge in Memphis city courts and in General Sessions Court. He has been a presenter at continuing legal education seminars covering workers compensation cases, employment matters, and small business counseling.
Beyond his profession, he enjoys singing with his church choir and is also a member of the Cotton Boll Chorus, Memphis chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. He enjoys music, reading, and travel and occasionally gets away to go camping and fishing.
